Wufoo's First Promotional Video

Since the start of the new year, the design team here has been hard at work on a big redesign of Wufoo’s marketing and promotional materials. While we’re still putting the finishing touches on the new homepage and landing pages, I wanted show off one project we just finished that we think you guys will get a big kick out of. It’s an animated promotional video that we made to show off Wufoo’s awesomeness.

For those of you with different video watching preferences, we also have the video in [Vimeo](http://vimeo.com/20880525) and [YouTube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jiuz33kN4o) flavors as well. To say we’re thrilled by the outcome is an understatement. This video was made possible thanks to so many great people that really went above and beyond the call of duty to help us tell our story and in a way that exceeded even our high standards for craftsmanship.

Our biggest thanks go out to Brian Campbell, Ryan Haines and Jay Allen from [SLACKCiRCUS](http://www.slackcircus.com/), who took our ideas and molded them into a proper script and then animated and edited all that delicious eye candy you see up above. The illustrations used in the video come from the pen and hand of [Nick Sirotich](http://nicksirotich.com), a local illustrator based out of Sarasota, FL. We’ve used him on some other projects before and we were glad to be able to work with him again to give life to his awesome drawings. And all the sound design, music and voiceover work was done by [OkraTron 5000](http://okratron5000.com).

Interesting factoid for you guys: the president of OkraTron, Christopher Sabat, who performs the male voice on the video is actually the brother of Wufoo’s own Tim Sabat (the guy that built all of Wufoo’s APIs and Notification Integrations). If Chris’s voice sounds familiar, it’s because he’s pretty well known for also being the voice of [Piccolo from Dragonball Z](http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=piccolo+dragon+ball+z&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8). Obviously, we were honored to have his voice represent us as well.

Thanks again everyone for watching and we hope you stay tuned for more!

  • The video is awesome Kevin…or let me just say, the video is so wufoo. Love the attention you have paid to the smallest detail and how you explain the product.

The only thing you have to worry about is the length. At 3:18, it is a bit too long for a promotional video. The comfortable length from what I have learnt is anything between 0:45-1:30 depending on your product. Just explain the pain point it solves, show a quick example or two and back it up with the customer names. For detailed features, it is best to have another Dig deeper video. Our own video is slightly more than 3 mins and this is something I have learnt the hard way.

Looking forward to your new website and everything else πŸ™‚

  • Giving website ears!

I think you’ve hit it out of the ballpark with this promo video.

I came here via HackerNews, do all of my own work, and had no intention of signing up, until right now.

Your marketing is really clever and well done. You’ve touched on all the top pain points users have and assured everyone of the benefits your service provides.

    Well done.
